WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY – Beginning Monday October 8, 2018 East Main Street from South Avenue to Route 9 will be closed due to ongoing utility and road construction.
Traffic will be one way westbound from Route 9 to South Avenue.
There will be no through traffic allowed eastbound in the direction of Route 9D to Route 9.
This lane closure will remain in effect for three to five weeks.

HALLOWEEN CURFEW
By Executive order of the Mayor of the Village of Wappingers Falls, Please be advised that "During the evening hours of October 30th, 2018 thru November 1st, 2018 between the hours of 9:00PM to 5:00AM the following day, it shall be unlawful for any minor to congregate, loiter, wander, remain or play in or upon any public place, public park, publc area, street, road or highway in the Village.
A) The terms "remain" and "loiter" mean: 1) linger or stay, or 2) fail to leave premises when requested to do so by a police officer, owner, orperator or other person in control of the premises.
B) "Minor" means under the age of 18 years of age.

Residents of the Village of Wappingers Falls are being advised that fire hydrant flushing will take place for nearly two weeks. The Village of Wappingers Falls Water Department will be flushing hydrants from Oct. 22 until Nov. 3. Residents are advised to check the water prior to doing laundry and to allow water to run until it clears if any discoloration occurs, according to the water department.

Snow Ordinance
The Village of Wappingers Falls Snow Ordinance will take effect on December 1st and go to April 1, 2019. During this period, no person shall park a vehicle on any public street within the village between midnight and 7am the next morning. It is the duty of the owner of every parcel of real estate adjoining a public sidewalk, wheter the parcel of real estate is occupied by a structure or not, to keep such sidewealks adjoining such property free from snow and ice for the full paved width of such sidewalk. Snow and ice shall be removed within 24 hours after the end of a snowfall. In additon, sidewalks in front of commercial establishments and commercial parking lots shall be kept free of snow and ice at all times between the hours of 9am and 5pm. No person, firm or corporation cause to be deposited, thrown, placed or strewn, any snow or ice upon any street, avenue or roadway within the Village. SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION
Village of Wappingers Falls Summer Camp will start on July 1, 2019 to August 16, 2019. Camp will be closed on July 4th. Camp will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. Registration dates Saturday, May 4th noon to 2pm and Saturday, May 18th noon to 2pm in Vet's Park. BOIL WATER ALERT
During Village of Wappingers Falls Utility Improvements Contract 4 construction work today on Wenliss Terrace, an existing water main was broken due to unknown existing water main pipe location. The Village’s Contractor Argenio Bros Inc. and the Village Water Department are working together to repair the pipe. Please BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING until further notice.
Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using. Or use bottled water certified for sale by the NYS Dept of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
As a precaution, this Boil Water Notice is being posted for the overall Village of Wappingers Falls.
A subsequent notice will be provided when the current issue is fully resolved.
